That's some very nice information about sleep and sleep disorders. I guess many students who struggle to sleep at the same time trying to wake up do meet the deadline have to follow this "Golden step" you have mentioned

Hi Jenny..thanks for your comment. I will do my best to answer, but first as a Mom, and second as nurse who is doing a Ph.d right now in psychology. I suffered from various sleep disorders since I was a child, which is one of the reasons I started this site. My oldest child also had sleep issues and I found the advice given by this Mom the most helpful--link is below. I would check with your pediatrician to rule out any nedical conditions and ONLY use prescription medications for a cild as an ABSOLUTE LAST RESORT...that said, please see what Carrie says below. I agree with her that if adjusting the sleep ritual, pillows, and warm milk do not work, you could try Hyland’s Calms Forte 4 Kids Sleep Aid. Rescue Remedy with 5 Bach Flower has also been found helpful. Here is Carrie's post FYI: http://naturalmomstalkradio.com/blog/natural-mom-articles/kids/natural-sleep-remedis-for-children/. Hope this helps.
